BREAKING NEWS: Details of 2nd MFP Package Coming This Afternoon

We are expected to learn more this afternoon on what the second round of Market Facilitation Program payments will look like.

Farm Journal's Jim Wiesemeyer says the program will likely be based on 2019 plantings of covered commodities, not to exceed 2018 plantings.

According to Wiesemeyer, rates for each crop will largely be calculated the same as last time, perhaps with some adjustments, with the first of three likely payments being made by the end of July.

We expect more information to be provided when the White House rolls out the program this afternoon.  Representatives of major farm groups are expected at the White House for a meeting with President Trump.

Wiesemeyer says the meeting is expected to happen at 3 pm ET.
