Salford Introduces Swath Control With BBI Sniper Spreader
With a goal of making spreader application more precise with a simple solution featuring fewer moving parts, Salford introduces the BBI Sniper with swath control technology.
The BBI Sniper is capable of application widths up to 120’. It uses patent-pending technology to follow prescription application targets by rapidly adjusting its spread pattern on the go with control in 20’ increments.
The BBI Sniper features 3 systems:
- Left/right hopper sections that use the Salford BBI split conveyor so each side of the conveyor feeds its own flow divider and spinner, allowing half-width spreading along field boundaries and sensitive areas.
- Closed, multi-fin flow divider tightly controls the fertilizer’s drop point onto the spinner, ensuring accurate material delivery and providing protection from wind and minimizing the impact of slope.
- Independently controlled spinners engineered to speed up or slow down to accommodate varying swath widths. The system is calibrated for 12 sections, six per side, to maximize compatibility with ISOBUS virtual terminals.
The BBI Sniper is built on a high-clearance frame with a 9-ton capacity. Row crop or flotation tires are available.
