MountainKing promotes plentiful Jumbo russets
Houston-based MountainKing Potatoes is promoting its Jumbo russets after harvest yielded lots of large-sized potatoes.
“Our supply of Jumbo russets is the strongest it’s been in quite a while,” John Pope, MountainKing’s vice president of marketing, said in a news releaase.
MountainKing offers its Jumbo russets in 8-pound, 15-pound and 20-pound bags, with each potato typically weighing in at about 10 ounces.
“Shoppers will always buy more tonnage of bagged Jumbos,” Pope said in the release, also suggesting cross-promotions with bagged salads or vegetables such as mushrooms and broccoli. MountainKing also promotes sales by providing high-graphic display bins to go with its larger-sized variety, according to the release.
