Raven Introduces Second Generation Of Hawkeye Nozzle Control
Raven introduces the Hawkeye 2 nozzle control system to provide precision in coverage across the spray boom. The company says the next generation nozzle control valve (NCV) builds upon the previous system.
The company says Hawkeye 2 gives coverage up to 2.5 times more accurate than comparable systems on the market.
“Hawkeye 2 offers optimal accuracy and is simple to use and maintain,” Brian Meyer, Vice President of Raven Applied Technology said in the product release. “This advanced solution enables operators with the capability to perform complex applications with ease and consistency across the boom. This reduces operator fatigue, optimizes input costs and increases application quality. Hawkeye 2 builds on Raven’s commitment to sprayer efficacy. Increased flow per nozzle and variable PWM frequency provide our customers the ability to dynamically compensate to the varying conditions of agriculture.”
Its individual nozzle control:
- reduces skips and overlaps
- reduces drift with consistent droplet rate and size
- increases application quality
- minimizes over and under application with turn compensation
- achieves the ideal application rate across the boom
A beta tester from Weldon Iowa, Lance Bell, said, “After running Hawkeye 2 for a season, I’m 100% convinced it was the right way to go. We mapped and sprayed across every waterway — the individual nozzle control worked great. Our usage of chemical was down, and our productivity increased a ton. Using Hawkeye 2 to set and maintain a consistent pressure, we were able to adjust for how the wind was blowing that day to stay consistent.”
