Face-to-Face Talks With China to Take Place Week of October 7th

U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin confirmed talks between the U.S. and China are set to resume in two weeks' time.
Chinese Vice Premier Liu He will be back in Washington the week of October 7th as he heads the Chinese team meeting with U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer and Treasury Secretary Mnuchin. Mnuchin said in an interview with Fox Business Network, that the two countries' negotiators had made some progress in easing their trade tensions in last week's deputy-level meetings.
President Trump discussed China during his speech earlier this week to the United Nations General Assembly. The President said, "The American people are absolutely committed to restoring balance to our relationship with China. Hopefully, we can reach an agreement that will be beneficial for both countries, but as I have made very clear, I will not accept a bad deal for the American people."
While in New York City meeting with world leaders, the President was asked about the visits by Chinese officials to U.S. farms in Nebraska and Montana that were canceled last week. You can hear what he had to say about that in the video.
