Nominate one or more emerging ag retail leaders deserving of industry-wide recognition before the Aug. 31 deadline.
The award is an annual ARA tradition that serves to recognize one or more legislators who have championed issues that impact agricultural retailers and the entire agriculture industry.
ARA along with other agricultural shipper interests will submit a letter with specific recommendations to improve the position of agricultural shippers. A public hearing of the STB is scheduled for April 26 and 27.
To further bolster ARA’s impact in Washington and reinforce its policy priorities, ARA members conducted close to 100 meetings with congressional offices during a five-week period in March and April.
The Agricultural Retailers Association (ARA) monitors any updates as they come out of Congress and the Biden administration, and it takes action to mitigate any negative impact on the ag retail industry.
Via a member alert, ARA shared that USDA announced on Friday it will support additional fertilizer production for American farmers to address rising costs and spur competition.
The 2022 ARA public policy priorities were drafted with the input from members and recently confirmed by the Board of Directors.
The goal is to bring about regulatory reform and commonsense legislation.
ARA President and CEO Daren Coppock said: “Based on the concerns of our members, ARA expressed opposition to the employer mandate.”
In March, ARA members are invited to participate in the annual legislative fly-in event–an opportunity for ag retailers to tell their stories firsthand to members of Congress and policymakers in the administration.
