Rantizo Receives FAA Approvals For Advanced Drone Operations
Rantizo service hub operators can now swarm up to three drones over 55 lb., without a visual observer, and at night, following the approval of an amendment to Exemption No. 18929B.

“The approval demonstrates the FAA’s recognition of the safety and reliability of our systems, as well as the evolving needs of operators delivering precise and timely crop protection to their farmer customers.” said Mariah Scott, Rantizo CEO. “This amendment allows us to unlock a whole new level of productivity, flexibility and efficiency for our team.”

All operators will undergo additional training prior to adopting these advanced practices. The company says they will now be able to cover more acres with more flexibility, as well as reduce interruptions for farm workers.

“This is a giant step in the right direction for drone applicators,” said Kevin McDonald, Rantizo chief pilot. “The FAA is really working hard to make more options available for drone operators and this approval shows that drones will continue to unlock new options for precision application technology.”

The Andersons Announces Leadership Changes In Nutrient & Industrial Business
Andy Spahr, vice president of The Anderson’s wholesale business, will transition to a new role as senior vice president of the Nutrient & Industrial business - effective July 1, 2024. Joe McNeely, president of the Nutrient & Industrial business, will retire at the end of the year - providing transition assistance until that time.

“We are extremely grateful for all the work Joe has done to grow our Nutrient & Industrial business,” said Bill Krueger, The Andersons chief operating officer. “His leadership through the divestiture of the rail business and strategic acquisitions in the fertilizer space have been instrumental in helping our Nutrient & Industrial business achieve record performance.”

Since joining The Andersons in 2011, Spahr has held a variety of roles in the former Grain Group before moving to the fertilizer business in 2016.

“Andy’s experience in the industry and across our businesses enables him to understand the needs of our customers and how to best leverage the market dynamics that drive this diverse business,” said Krueger. “I am excited for him to expand his role and to continue serving the company in this leadership capacity.”
