By Mike Cabibbo, senior director of education and programs
As we reach the midpoint of 2024, the ASFMRA has much to celebrate with respect to educational initiatives. We have successfully developed the inaugural offerings of three qualifying education courses:
- General Appraisal Report Writing and Case Studies
- Introduction to Statistical Analysis for Appraisers
- Income Approach for General Appraisers, Part II
These courses represent significant advancements in our educational repertoire, and they provide our members with valuable, cutting-edge knowledge and skills.
We also launched six newly developed and updated seminars during our Education Week that took place in Des Moines, Iowa, during July:
- Principles of Permanent Plantings
- The Appraiser as an Expert Witness
- Agricultural Land in Transition
- Introduction to Native American Real Estate Appraisal
- Rural Sales Analysis and Verification
- Farm & Ranch Succession, Estate and Continuity Planning
Our members were given more choices than ever to select continuing education (CE) courses best suited for their professional backgrounds. In response to the increasing demand for flexible learning options, three of these seminars—Permanent Plantings, Rural Sales Analysis and Introduction to Native American Real Estate Appraisal—were also offered in a hybrid format.
Two more seminars, Appraising Poultry Facilities and Data Analysis for Appraisers, will be offered as livestream events in September. Achieving the update and development of eight seminars within one year marks a significant milestone for our team and organization, and we are eager to see the feedback.
Hybrid Learning Center: One Year of Success
We’ve also marked the first anniversary of our hybrid learning center. The positive feedback has been overwhelming. Instructors have embraced the technology, including Smart Boards and breakout rooms, to create engaging and interactive experiences. This innovation has enhanced the overall educational environment and made learning more accessible and effective for the participants.
Upcoming Webinars
Looking ahead, the ASFMRA continues to develop high-quality webinar offerings that are free for members. These one-hour sessions provide engaging and relevant CE opportunities and allow members to stay updated on the latest industry trends and practices. Watch for more information on upcoming webinars, and take advantage of these valuable learning experiences.
We’re excited to share more developments as we continue to expand our educational programs and support the overall professional growth of our members.
