Willard Ag to Testify Tuesday at House Ag Committee Hearing

The Agricultural Retailers Association (ARA) is pleased to announce that Michael Twining with Willard Agri-Service will testify on behalf of ARA member companies before the House Committee on Agriculture during its hearing on Feb. 28 at 10 a.m. ET.

Twining, who serves on the ARA Board of Directors and as vice chair of the ARA Public Policy Committee, will testify on the "Uncertainty, Inflation, Regulations: Challenges for American Agriculture."

The witness list for this hearing includes:

  • Zippy Duvall, President, American Farm Bureau Federation, Washington, D.C.;
  • Peter Friedmann, Executive Director, Agriculture Transportation Coalition, Washington, D.C.;
  • Corey Rosenbusch, President and Chief Executive Officer, The Fertilizer Institute, Arlington, Va.;
  • Michael Twining, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Willard Agri-Service, Worton, Md.;
  • Mike Brown, President, National Chicken Council, Washington, D.C.; and
  • Rob Larew, President, National Farmers Union, Washington, D.C.

"We are grateful to the Committee for this opportunity to offer recommendations aligned with the current challenges facing the agricultural industry," said ARA President & CEO Daren Coppock.

"Hearing directly from an ag retailer like Mike will underscore the need for Congress and the Biden administration to remove regulatory barriers in an effort to boost our farm economies."

ARA will submit a detailed written testimony to expand on the points Twining will make regarding pesticide registrations, Waters of the United States (WOTUS), energy, and other issues impacting ag retailers and the entire agricultural industry.
