UPL Ltd. a global provider of sustainable agricultural solutions, and AgBiTech, a world leader in agricultural biological innovation to create healthy food systems, have announced the expansion of their strategic partnership. Through the collaboration, UPL will distribute AgBiTech’s entire portfolio of biosolutions through its Natural Plant Protection (NPP) business unit in the United States.

AgBiTech is providing the technology and distribution rights throughout the United States for its entire portfolio, including two OMRI-certified bioinsecticides: Heligen and Fawligen, as well as Lepigen, Chrysogen and Surtivo. These products are novel and highly selective biological insecticides that use viruses to target specific organisms, minimizing their impacts on the wider environment and ecosystems.

David Coorts, Head of UPL Natural Plant Protection, North America, said: “Our strengthened partnership with AgBiTech exemplifies our promise to be that catalyst for innovation to help solve problems for growers — and society — today and in the future. With biosolutions, we’re empowering growers with the natural tools to respond to challenges from climate change to pests and sustainably grow healthy, nutritious and profitable crops.”

Marcos Castro, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for AgBiTech, added: “This expansion of our agreement with UPL further demonstrates our commitment to bringing safe and effective integrated pest management solutions to growers in North America. We are looking forward to working closely with UPL to deliver our unique biosolutions to more and more farmers in the entire United States.”

Biosolutions refer to agricultural inputs developed with naturally-derived active ingredients, ranging from seaweed extracts to micro-organisms. NPP’s biosolutions cover a range of applications, including increasing crop resilience to disease, pests, and environmental conditions, supporting crop nutrition and improving soil health, while reducing residues and environmental impacts.
