Pivot Bio Launches New Retail Distribution Partnerships
Pivot Bio has entered into a new distribution partnership with Hefty Seed Company. Beginning in 2025, Pivot Bio’s Proven 40 and Return technology will be available at all Hefty Seed Co. locations - a network that consists of 49 retail locations spanning 10 states.

Proven 40 can be used on corn crops and provides a steady, in-season nitrogen supply to help the plant meet nutrient demands efficiently, insulate against the risks of nitrogen loss events, and protect yield potential. Return is intended for sorghum, wheat and other small grains .

To assist farmers in integrating this technology, Pivot Bio and Hefty Seed Co. are introducing a collaborative field support initiative, whichwill provide customers with personalized nitrogen planning, field-tested insights, and data-driven recommendations. This service will be tailored to the operation’s specific needs and be delivered by Hefty’s trusted local advisors or Pivot Bio’s expert agronomy team. Hefty Seed’s customers will also have access to emerging programs like Pivot Bio’s N-Ovator program.

UPL Launches New Seed Treatment
UPL Corp has announced EPA registration of Nimaxxa - a triple-strain bionematicide seed treatment for nematode protection in soybeans and corn.

Nimaxxa can be used to protect against soybean cyst nematode (SCN), root knot nematode (RKN) and reniform nematode. It uses a combination of three biological strains to form a barrier around plant roots and stimulate root growth.

“Nematodes are a costly, unseen pest in soybeans. SCN is responsible for nearly $1.5 billion in lost yield each year across North America. To make matters worse, varietal resistance is faltering,” said Chris Nowlan, UPL Corp, North America marketing lead.

UPL says that during testing and trials, Nimaxxa’s protection held up in various soil types and weather conditions, providing consistent control across field locations.

The product has no known mixing issues with current seed treatment products and will be available to treat corn and soybeans in the 2025 season. Nimaxxa may not be registered for sale or use in all states.

Sound Agriculture Secures $25M to Advance Bio-inspired Nutrient Efficiency Solutions
Sound Agriculture has completed a $25 million extension of its Series D raise. The new financing, co-led by BMO Impact Investment Fund and S2G Ventures, with significant support from Leaps by Bayer, Syngenta Ventures, and Fall Line Capital amongst others, willsupport the launch of bioinspired nutrient efficiency solutions.

In four years, the company has reached 2 million acres in the U.S. with products, such as Source and Blueprint, and its grower incentive program, Efficient Acre.

  • Source: Source mimicks a natural plant signal to unlock nitrogen, phosphorus, and micronutrients that would otherwise remain inaccessible.
  • Blueprint: Blueprint provides arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF), and when used alongside SOURCE, it enables crops to access even more nutrients.
  • Efficient Acre Incentive: Through this program, growers who replace 25 lb. of nitrogen and/or phosphorus with Source can earn up to $10 per acre and benefit from a guaranteed yield protection program offering up to $100 per acre cash back.

Sound projects additional growth through new products and geographies.
