The Agricultural Retailers Association (ARA) is pleased to recognize Rep. John Garamendi of California as a recipient of ARA’s Legislator of the Year Award.
“I’m deeply honored to receive the Agricultural Retailers Association’s Legislator of the Year Award. ARA’s members support America’s farmers as they feed the world, and I am proud to support their work through my efforts in Congress,” says Rep. John Garamendi, D-Calif.
“Last year, I championed the bipartisan Ocean Shipping Reform Act with Representative Dusty Johnson, R-S.D., to provide the Federal Maritime Commission with the regulatory power to support American exporters, protect consumers, and establish reciprocal trade opportunities to reduce our nation’s longstanding trade imbalance with countries like China. Now that this bill has become law, it will help tackle the supply chain crisis and ensure ARA retailers have the supplies they need to do their work.

Each year, ARA recognizes top legislators who have championed the issues of importance to agriculture and agriculture suppliers.
