New Adjuvant Qualifies As Drift Mitigation Option for EPA
SuperLock adjuvant is a new premium adjuvant proprietary to WinField United. SuperLock combines both drift reduction technology (DRT) and a high surfactant crop oil concentrate (HSCOC) to help ensure herbicides hit their intended targets and penetrate plant surfaces to increase yields and profitability through better weed control. Thia adjuvant qualifies as a drift mitigation option within the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Herbicide Strategy, under the Endangered Species Act.

“For growers, adding SuperLock adjuvant to their herbicide tank mixes means getting enhanced drift control, weed control and crop safety efficiently from one product,” said Joe Vaillancourt, strategic marketing manager for adjuvants with WinField United, in the product announcement. “And it’s backed by extensive research at the WinField United Innovation Center, including more than 3,600 wind tunnel measurements and 100,000 data points in our plant phenotyping lab, so growers can be confident when adding it to their preferred tank mix.”

Vaillancourt says SuperLock adjuvant is a particularly strong fit for growers who are looking to get more from their crop oil concentrate tank mixes, mitigate crop response with specific tank mixes, and/or are already choosing to mix a DRT with a crop oil concentrate.

SuperLock adjuvant is highly compatible across a wide variety of crops and tank-mix partners, including glufosinate, 2,4-D, clethodim, glyphosate and many others, and it is approved as a required oil system for tank-mix applications of Liberty Ultra and Enlist One herbicides.

“SuperLock adjuvant enables easier warehouse management by requiring less storage space and delivers retailers a multifunctional, differentiated solution to offer their customers,” he said. “There are so many herbicide options available, and SuperLock is the simple solution to help improve performance potential.”

Expanded Crop Label For Herbicide
Maverick herbicide from Valent is now registered for application sweet corn. With this registration, the herbicide has more rotational flexibility for cotton, alfalfa, and grain sorghum, as well as increased rates and application timing flexibility for corn, based on soil type.

Koch Agronomic Services Announces Foliar Nutrient Now For Use in Specialty Crops
Available in two ready-to-use, liquid formulations, OPTRIENT foliar nutrient products deliver nutrients precisely. Previously only available for fruit and nut trees, OPTRIENT MoCo-Ni improves nitrogen utilization, mitigates stress and optimizes crop performance by delivering a targeted application of molybdenum, cobalt and nickel.

“As yield goals continue to increase, micronutrients, in addition to macronutrients, play an even more important role in crop management,” said Greg Hunter, vice president of global sales at KAS, in a product announcement. “Growers need products that are not only effective but also easy to use. That’s where OPTRIENT formulations can be impactful.”

OPTRIENT MoCo-Ni is a liquid foliar containing molybdenum, cobalt and nickel in a formulation with broad tank mix compatibility. These key nutrients work in synergy to improve plant health and nitrogen utilization.

OPTRIENT NITAMIN is a 30-0-0 foliar fertilizer with 60% slow-release nitrogen. With a low salt index and low levels of ammonia and biuret, it can be safely applied directly to the leaf’s surface for rapid absorption and green-up.
