The strike adds another layer of concern for ag retailers. With farmers assessing their fertilizer costs and needs this fall, this supply chain concern could add stress to an already elevated issue.

The Illinois corn crop didn’t quite meet USDA’s expectations of 225 bu./acre, but it hit 204.14 bu. At the same time, Iowa’s soybean crop is putting out big numbers.

Starting in September, ag retailers who are CHS wholesale crop protection customers and AgVend network members can place orders, view transaction and invoice history, and reorder products within the AgVend platform.

The corn yield estimate in Indiana is nearly 7 bu. per acre above the 2023 tour estimate; the soybean estimate is up 7.56%. Nebraska’s corn yield estimate is just over 6 bu. per acre higher than last year, and the soybean estimate is up 1.07%.

Unless labor agreements are reached, Canadian National Railway and Canadian Pacific Kansas City will shut nearly all freight rail services in Canada at midnight on Thursday, snarling shipments of everything from wheat to fertilizer and meat.

If you have tar spot, Southern rust or other disease pressure and plan to dry the crop in the field, you might want to spray again.

The final strategy itself does not impose any requirements or restrictions on pesticide use and will be used to inform mitigations for new active ingredient registrations and registration review of conventional herbicides.
