This is a recent update from the Iowa Agribusiness Association:

Recent high profile ransomware attacks on critical infrastructure are causing many in agriculture to take a harder look at the impact and prevention of these threats. While the attacks are only likely to increase, there are steps agribusinesses can take to help reduce the possibility of these threats and the impact of compromised systems if an attack is successful.

The Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has provided a Ransomware Guide to help businesses and organizations reduce their likelihood of an incident and plan for how to mitigate a ransomware attack. The guide has two major sections:

  • Ransomware Prevention Best Practices
  • Ransomware Response Checklist

The publication also identifies a number of services offered free of charge by CISA and the Multi-State Information Sharing & Analysis Center (MS-ISAC) to help businesses assess risk, train, and plan.
