This November, the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers will host its 92nd Annual Conference at the Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa in Las Vegas, Nevada. This is the premier event for farm managers, agricultural consultants and rural appraisers in America, and it will feature specialized education, discussion sessions and networking opportunities for rural property professionals.

As the past year and a half has shown us, change can sometimes happen faster than expected. This year’s agenda will keep that in mind as speakers consider the possibilities that lie ahead for agriculture. Those include the growing focus on sustainability, the changing trends in consumer preferences and how technology will shape the future of appraisal and farm management.

The main event will run from Nov. 3-5, though it will be preceded by appraisal education, including a seven-hour Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice course, which will begin on Oct. 30. The main event will feature a full slate of activities for farm managers and appraisers to enjoy.

On Wednesday, Nov. 3, attendees will be able to choose between participating in the Pioneer ag tour, which will allow participants to explore a series of local agricultural business and facilities, and the appraiser rapid fire session, which will provide event-goers with insight into unique and often challenging rural valuation scenarios presented through a quick series of case studies. In the evening, a ceremony will be held to honor winners of the 2021 ASFMRA Awards as well as individuals who have earned their accreditation through the society and are now among the most qualified and trustworthy rural property professionals.

Attendees will have the chance to hear from industry leaders and experts during a number of fascinating general and breakout sessions on Thursday, Nov. 4, beginning with “10 Key Drivers Facing Ag in the Next Decade” by keynote speaker Brian David Johnson, a professor from Arizona State University and prominent futurist who has worked with militaries, governments and multinational companies to help them prepare for the future. Following the sessions, attendees will be able to join their friends and professional peers for an auction and dinner.
On Friday, Nov. 5, the conference will wrap up with general sessions covering timely issues regarding the economy and sustainability, including regenerative agriculture and carbon measurement. Finally, attendees will also have the opportunity to explore the beautiful nearby canyons as a group with the Red Rock classic Jeep tour excursion.
