Spornado Data Now Available To Agtrinsic Customers
Agtrinsic and Spornado are teaming up to help users identify crop disease early during the upcoming growing season.
The partnership will allow readings from Spornado’s device, Spornado Sampler, to be integrated into Agtrinsic’s Broad Scale Disease Model.
“We are excited to be a part of what is quickly becoming the go-to solution for actionable information regarding the possible risks of fungal disease. Our Spornado product complements the vision of Agtrinsic,” said Spornado CEO, Kristine White.
The Spornado Sampler functions by taking a reading of the air that is then shipped and analyzed at a lab to detect any airborne fungal pathogens before they begin to affect crops.
This testing and reporting process will now be transmitted to Agtrinsic’s platform, which will help improve machine learning and outcomes.
Agtrinsic customers will be able to access this data to help with their crop protection decisions.
“Airborne pathogens that cause disease are a multi-billion-dollar problem in the crop production industry,” said Agtrinsic product manager Scott Plato. “We will explore and leverage technology in every way possible to reduce this economic impact and the impact on global food security.”
Spornado’s data will also work with Scanit Technologies’ Sporecam, which detects the presence of spores and integrates with Agtrinsic. The addition of this technology will help strengthen SporeCam’s pathogen detection grid and bring a new level of data interaction to growers.
