Matt Dolch is the corn product manager for NK Brand at Syngenta, and he says he’s a bit of an outlier for his generation.

“I go a little bit against the grain. I’ve been at Syngenta my whole career,” Dolch says. “I would say that most folks my age have made a lot of moves very quickly or sequentially, and I’m really about the experience.

He quickly adds he doesn’t want to judge anyone’s career decisions, but he does share he’s benefited from intentionally growing in his roles, and changing roles when new experiences are provided.

“Seven years ago, I was a regional sales manager when Syngenta relaunched NK and reinvested in the brand. We were able to rebuild a team. And that’s been the most rewarding project as we were able to build on a rich history and take it from there,” he says.

Dolch was named in the 2022 class for The Scoop’s 40 Under 40. Applications are open now for the 2023 awardees.

In his current role, he works with internal sales teams and retail partners to position the NK brand corn products.

“What we are really focused on is making sure the value proposition of each fcorn hybrid is accurate for each market that we’re working in,” he says. “While also managing the entire corn portfolio for the US with its diverse markets east to west and north to south.”

He says his team executes on their vision by understanding customers’ needs, by each grower and each retailer.

When asked what comes next in corn hybrid developed he says, “it’s the thing that rings the bell in terms of yield.”
