In his 15-year career Travis Fuller says it’s been amazing to watch the technology develop for the ag retail industry. As a customer success manager for AgWorks, he helps ag retailers deploy software to streamline their business and gain new insights.
Fuller says FFA turned this “city kid” into passionate member of the ag industry. He worked in the agronomy and precision ag business for an ag retailer for three years before joining AgWorks.
Today, he says the AgWorks suite of software, AgOS, HighQ, and Stratum, can help retailers find new efficiencies in their business and rely less on paper.
“It’s a big idea to operate as paperless,” he says, highlighting how the software can integrate multiple pieces of the business and provide new tools.
He mentions point of sale, inventory management, and logistics management as examples.
“With dispatching, an ag retailer can schedule a work order to a specific rig and then the applicators can log in through an app and apply it online versus filling it out and having a paper logbook,” Fuller says.
He’s helped ag retailers celebrate how their business can be managed more accurately and precisely.
“We’ve come a long way, so we don’t have to guess any more,” he says.
As for the future, he’s closely watching what is being developed with artificial intelligence.
“I can see a future where you can see exactly what is happening in a field or with a crop without having to be in the field. You can be somewhere in the office, see everything, and treat the crop without stepping foot in the field,” he says.
