La Crosse Seed added a natives specialist to its native grass and wildflower seed business, giving customers a dedicated resource to meet demand for an expanding conservation seed market. Carlie Von Arx, who has a Bachelor of Science in sustainability, has assumed the new role. She joins the company’s growing conservation seed team comprised of cover crop, wildlife and food plot leads.

“It’s important that customers know we’re committed to offering the best possible products, service and support for their conservation seed needs,” says Patrick Reed, national sales director, La Crosse Seed. “We continue to see increased use of products that contribute to land stewardship, pollinator habitat and forage source development.”

The addition comes at a time where growers and landowners have many conservation tools to consider for protection of vital resources on agricultural land. A partial list of seed for sustainability applications available through La Crosse Seed includes:

•    Conservation cover including cover crops, CRP and pollinator habitat
•    Contour buffer strips
•    Field borders and filter strips
•    Forage and biomass plantings
•    Grassed waterways and stream bank protection

Von Arx will help manage and fulfill product and service demands for the company’s Natives First® platform, which includes seed for annual and perennial wildflower pollinator mixes, native grasses, forbs and custom CRP mixes. The Natives First lineup includes pre-formulated mixes and custom mixing capabilities to meet the needs of various state and regional programs.

In addition to supplying a large variety of conservation seed, La Crosse Seed also offers agronomic and management support to ensure the right product and approach is selected for each conservation or CRP planting.

Additional product and management information can be found at www.nativesfirst.com.
