Deep in southwest Louisiana, GreenPoint Ag is officially celebrating the grand opening of its state-of-the-art fertilizer warehouse in Roanoke, LA. This $3.2 million investment underscores our commitment to our mission, which is to help farmers succeed in crop growth, their families thrive, and their communities prosper.
With roughly 20,000 square feet under roof, this $3.2 million investment has the capacity to hold 4500 tons of crop nutrient products–including nitrogen, phosphate, potassium, and sulfate ingredients. Equipped with a state-of-the-art blending system, orders containing straight products or customized blends can be delivered to our customers in record time. This system is rated to blend roughly 240 tons an hour! That converts to loading a 25-ton tender in less than 8 minutes. Additionally, the inbound conveyor system can unload straight products into one of seven available bays in 7 minutes or less. With the entirety of this equipment being under roof, adverse weather conditions across our service area will not affect progress when conditions are favorable in other areas. Providing efficient service to customers is our priority, and this facility is vital in accomplishing that task.
Annually, an anticipated 22,000 tons is expected to move through the site, and with our unique geographical location, the facility can service approximately 100,000 acres across 8 parishes (counties). Predominant crops serviced are rice, sugar cane, crawfish, soybeans, and grass pastures.
