Gowan Milling has recently acquired a WinField United facility in Blytheville, Arkansas. Four main factors led Gowan to this new facility, which will be known as Gowan Milling Blytheville: the centralized location, increased manufacturing capacity, employee and local expertise, and investment in expansion.

Centralized Location
Gowan hopes this new site will give them the proximity to the key markets they need to better service existing customers on a larger scale. They plan for this centralized location to serve as a hub and allow customers across the country to have easy access to products and support.

Increased Manufacturing Capacity
The company will use this facility to expand and enhance its manufacturing capabilities and capacity to account for growing demand.

The site will offer a variety of capabilities, such as herbicide pan granulation, extruded granulation and the production of suspension concentrate fungicides and insecticides.

Synergy of Expertise
Gowan Milling Blytheville’s operations will be a collaboration between the experience of existing employees and the skillsets of local plant personnel.

This location will be led by Mike Callahan, Gowan Milling general manager. Callahan is currently based out of Gowan’s Yuma, Ariz. location.

Investment in Expansion
The company plans to make a substantial investment in this new facility. They hope to expand their capabilities and technologies, increase the scale of their product line and improve customer service.

Callahan shares the most important factor to the company in this acquisition is the customer.

"This facility acquisition is a strategic move that reinforces our dedication to our customers and the industry,” he says. “It will enable us to deliver the highest quality crop protection chemicals, expand our product offerings, and improve our overall service. We look forward to this new chapter of growth and innovation."
