ARA has joined a coalition of agriculture, manufacturing, energy, labor, and transportation stakeholders in opposing the proposed Union Pacific (UP) – Norfolk Southern (NS) merger.
The Stop the Rail Merger Coalition believes that this merger would reduce competition, weaken service reliability, and raise shipping costs across large portions of the U.S. economy.
As the Surface Transportation Board (STB) reviews this application, ARA will work with coalition partners to ensure that the board’s decision enhances competition and benefits consumers.
