Mike Frank to Step Down as CEO of UPL Corporation

Jai Shroff, Chairman and Group CEO, will lead the Global Crop Protection business, reinforcing the strategic importance of the business to the UPL Group.

Effective August 31, 2026, Mike Frank will step down from his role as Chief Executive Officer at UPL and relocate from London to the U.S.

In a statement the company, said Frank made a significant contribution to strengthening its business, deepening customer and partner relationships, and building a strong platform for the future.

Bikash Prasad, Group Chief Financial Officer, concluded the company’s August investor call with the news. At the time he said: “After many years of dedicated service to the company, Mike Frank has decided to step down from his role as the CEO of UPL Corp, our global crop protection business, with an intention to relocate back to the United States in view of his personal commitments after completing a successful tenure of 4.5 years.”

He continued, “On behalf of the Board, the management team and all our colleagues, I would like to sincerely thank Mike for his invaluable contributions over the years. His leadership, commitment and passion have played a significant role in advancing UPL’s transformation journey through a sharper focus on innovation, customer centricity, operational excellence and sustainability.”

Frank said, “UPL is an amazing company, and it’s really been an honor to lead UPL Corporation over the past almost 5 years. I do feel positive that the business has strong momentum, and the organization is set for continued growth. But most importantly, the leadership team and the people across UPL are set to successfully drive UPL Corp. into the future. I want to thank the Board of Directors, Jai and Vikram, and the entire organization for their support, and I wish everyone all the best. Thank you very much.”

As for the company’s leadership going forward:

  • Jai Shroff, Chairman and Group CEO, will lead the Global Crop Protection business, reinforcing the strategic importance of the business to the UPL Group
  • Sameer Tandon has been appointed Divisional President, APAC, Africa and Europe. In addition to his current responsibilities for Europe and MECA, he will lead the APAC and Africa businesses and support the development of a strong product pipeline. He will continue to oversee Europe and MECA until a successor for the region is appointed
  • Ashish Dobhal has been appointed Divisional President, Americas, with responsibility for Brazil, Latin America and North America. He will continue to lead Global Sales and Supply Chain, including Manufacturing
