Stine Seed and Pattern Ag have introduced the Prescriptive Pathogen Report – a new tool to help combat the effects of corn rootworm.

The Prescriptive Pathogen Report uses Pattern Ag’s predictive soil analysis to predict the field pressure and economic risk of corn rootworm in the upcoming growing season. It works by measuring DNA in the soil to detect target organisms. The data collected is then translated into actionable agronomic insights that growers can employ for best results.

“Our collaboration with Stine Seed is a game-changing moment for agriculture,” said Mike Tweedy, Pattern Ag’s vice president of sales. “By combining Stine’s renowned expertise in seeds with Pattern Ag’s cutting-edge analytics, we are ushering in a new era of data-driven, prescriptive farming. This partnership will empower farmers to make smarter, more strategic decisions, ultimately increasing their yields and profitability and elevating the entire industry.”

The companies report the insights from the tool have an accuracy rate of 90% and sensitive enough to detect a single egg in a 1 lb. sample of soil – allowing growers to be proactive rather than reactive. They also share it is sensitive enough to detect a single egg in a 1 lb. sample of soil.

“In the world of agriculture, knowledge is power. Our collaboration with Pattern Ag and the introduction of the Prescriptive Pathogen Report will empower our customers with the knowledge they need to make smarter, more informed decisions about their crops, ensuring they have the tools to protect their yields and grow with confidence,” said Myron Stine, Stine Seed president.

Stine’s corn loyalty level customers will receive the Prescriptive Pathogen Report at a discounted price in an effort to make the service accessible and affordable.
