Should farmers choose not to plant in 2019 and instead take prevented planting compensation, the retailer will be left holding product which will either drop in value, or worse, be of no value at all

On today’s AgriTalk, Hunter Carpenter, Director of Public Policy for the Agricultural Retailers Association (ARA), joined Chip Flory to discuss how the increase in prevent plant acres directly impacts ag retailers.

Today the Agricultural Retailers Association (ARA) testified before the Surface Transportation Board (STB) about excessive demurrage and accessorial charges against agricultural retailers and distributors.

ARA has championed efforts to remove these tariffs and is optimistic in the opportunity the Congress has to ratify the trade agreement in the near future.

ARA Senior Vice President of Public Policy and Counsel Richard Gupton testified about excessive demurrage and accessorial charges against agricultural retailers and distributors.

This action requests comments on a second pilot program to allow non-military drivers ages 18-20 to operate CMVs in interstate commerce.

This action is in direct response to President Trump’s Executive Order 13563: “Improving Regulations and Regulatory Review.”
