As I write this, I should be in Monterey, California, at the 2021 NAICC Annual Meeting. Not being there makes me realize how much value I gain from the networking and face-to-face interaction time I have with our members. There is truly no replacement for the time we get to spend together at our annual meeting each year. We are looking forward to getting back together in person in January 2021 in Orlando, Florida.
As mentioned in my previous article, we launched the NAICC Academy webinar series at the end of January. The webinars are a way for us to get back together, see each other’s faces and learn at the same time. Although the meeting is not face to face, these virtual series offer the opportunity to reengage and reconnect our members.
Our consultant, quality assurance and research education committees have prepared a diverse series of webinar sessions that will offer unique learning and credit-building opportunities for each segment of our membership.
Our first webinar was at the end of January; its title was NAICC Governmental Affairs Update and Outlook for Ag Under New Administration. Presented by seasoned veterans of our governmental affairs committees and industry partners, this information is critical to the future of agriculture and how we continue to champion our profession and our growers as well.
On March 3, we will offer an Emerging and Evolving Technology session that will give our sustaining and voting members the opportunity to discuss new product or technology offerings.
