The Agricultural Retailers Association (ARA) today applauded Senate Agriculture Committee Chairman John Boozman’s (R-Ark.) release of the Senate Farm Bill text, a significant step forward in the effort to deliver a new Farm Bill for America’s farmers, ag retailers, and rural communities.
“Chairman Boozman’s release of the Senate Farm Bill text demonstrates a serious commitment to getting this critical legislation across the finish line,” said ARA President & CEO Daren Coppock. “ARA is encouraged by this progress and remains committed to working with Chairman Boozman and members of the Senate Agriculture Committee to advance legislation that supports farmer access to modern agricultural technologies, strengthens the farm safety net, and ensures a safe, abundant, and affordable food supply for American consumers and global markets.”
ARA will continue to engage with the Senate Agriculture Committee as the Farm Bill process moves forward. Key priorities for ARA include preserving crop insurance and the farm safety net, protecting and streamlining conservation programs, codifying pesticide regulatory oversight at the EPA and state lead agencies, expanding access to Technical Service Providers, establishing a federal definition for plant biostimulants, and modernizing agricultural credit programs — all of which are essential to ensuring that retailers and their supplier partners can continue to make long-term investments that support farmer success.
