To recognize the important role machine operators play in agriculture AGCO has honored their hard work with the Operator of the Year program.
The award was first started in 2006 and has recognized ag retailers and custom applicators across North America.
Applications are judged on service, quality of application, team work, training, leadership, safety, and service to community.
This year’s three finalists included:
- John Berken, Greenpoint Ag in Jennings, Louisiana. He covers more than 22,000 acres annually. His application highlights included a strong commitment to safety and compliance, serving as president of two local boards, and being a strong communicator with team members.
- Adam Petermann, Aurora Co-op in Trumbull, Nebrasksa. He’s been in the industry for more than 23 years and covers more than 44,000 annually. His application highlights include high standards for professionalism and technical expertise with the commitment to go the “extra mile.”
- Jeffery Coffey, Helena Agri-Enterprises in Charleston, Illinois. He has more than 47 years in ag retail and covers 51,000 acres annually. His application highlights include training younger operators having mentored more than 60 in his career and a willingness to also lend a hand to the team at the retail location as well as in the community.
