COVID-19 Claims Another Event: 2021 World Ag Expo Cancelled
For the first time in its history, the World Ag Expo will not hold a live, in-person event due to challenges arising from COVID-19. The event has been held for the past 52 years and brings buyers and sellers together in agriculture.
“After working with the Tulare County Health Department and other officials, it has become evident that given the health and safety restrictions from the State of California, holding a live, international event is not responsible in February,” said Jerry Sinift, International Agri-Center CEO.
The decision to cancel this event was not an easy one, according to the International Agri-Center Board of Directors. The group spent months researching and evaluating future trends and known constraints related to risks of COVID-19.
This decision comes earlier than expected, November, to give exhibitors, attendees, volunteers, concessionaires, contractors and local businesses time to adjust plans.
People who planned to attend should watch World Ag Expo social media channels as well as their email inboxes for more information about World Ag Expo projects throughout the remainder of this year and 2021. Recipients will also receive updates from the World Ag Expo team through these channels.
The 2022 World Ag Expo is still in the books for February 8 through 10 at the International Agri-Center in Tulare, Calif.
