Congresswoman Erin Houchin (R-IN) has brought forth a bill that directs the FCC to incorporate USDA farm field location data into the national broadband map.

Participants at a recent webinar hosted by the Science Societies warned that grant funding cuts and force reductions at USDA results in uncertainty, lost research and lost opportunities for young scientists. The future of independent research is potentially at risk too.

Both of these visits are part of ARA’s coordination of congressional facility visits for ARA members during congressional recess periods.

“Today’s farmers are running complex businesses, and they need tools that work as hard as they do,” Kevin Still, President and CEO of Keystone Cooperative said.

Elevated levels of the disease are trending currently, and are of ‘serious concern’ over the next eight weeks, say researchers.

With at least four weeks left in the growing season, Ferrie encourages farmers to stay ahead of heavy disease pressure in fields, particularly in what he calls D hybrids — those that punch their yield card late-season.
