ARA Participates in Field to Market’s First Cross-Sector Dialogue

ARA Senior Vice President of Public Policy and Counsel Richard Gupton represented ARA at the event that gathered more than 50 experts.

Field to Market held its first ever Cross-Sector Dialogue recently at their headquarters in Washington, D.C. The meeting was an interactive discussion on responsible pest management with Field to Market members, including ARA.

ARA Senior Vice President of Public Policy and Counsel Richard Gupton represented ARA at the event that gathered more than 50 experts from across the value chain, representing growers, agribusinesses, brands and retailers, civil society, academia, and public sector partners to explore how diverse stakeholders can work together to encourage continuous improvement in pest management while preserving tools that farmers need to maintain productivity, profitability and sustainability of their crops.

The discussion revealed that ARA and the agricultural industry have a lot of work to do to educate food companies and the general public on the importance of the responsible use of pesticides, fertilizers, and biotech seeds in modern agricultural production to ensure safe and healthy food for consumers and protecting the environment.
