Successful agriculture retailers build their businesses by building trusted relationships with the growers they serve. Those growers come to them for timely, accurate agronomic advice and guidance on which products to use to boost yields and manage weeds and diseases. Keeping up with all the product options available and all the latest agronomic strategies is a job in itself, taking time retailers can better spend serving customers and building a profitable operation.

To help retailers efficiently provide up-to-the-minute, localized information, BASF has re-launched Grow Smart® Live — a robust digital platform with access to powerful new tools, such as:

  • Grow Smart Advantage, which draws on field- performance information to compare products, enabling informed decisions when choosing products that will deliver the highest ROI.
  • xarvio® Field Manager, a powerful but easy-to- use tool that helps growers make the best use of their data by collaborating with their retailer on prescriptions down to the individual field and field-zone level.
  • RevX Fields and Seed Yields, are two helpful guides for product selection based on performance results from around the country that can be localized to specific areas.

Grow Smart Live is meant to act as a pocket agronomist, offering field observations, real-time weather down to the zip code level and market information so retailers will have the right answers when needed. The platform currently focuses on content for corn, soybean and cotton growers, but plans are underway to expand into other crops. Other planned expansions include a podcast, BASF event calendars, live streaming and Grow Smart TV.

“These premium tools, like Grow Smart Advantage, are designed to make sure the retailer has all the data points to make the best recommendations to their growers throughout the season,” says Kashif Ahmed, senior marketing manager of Digital for BASF U.S. Agricultural Solutions. “It’s a one-stop place to get all the information they need.”

Growers want help improving yield in every acre and increasing application accuracy. Retailers now have that information at their fingertips, using the data to corroborate product recommendations to provide added benefits for the customer. They can develop deeper, more trusted, loyal partnerships by delivering more value.

“We are fully committed to helping retailers,” says Ahmed, “and Grow Smart Live is another tool that can help guide the retailer to success.”
