This 2022 spray season, a Greeneye Technology outfitted sprayer will be placed with FBN farmer members in Nebraska for on-farm trials.

Nadav Bocher, CEO of Greeneye Technology, says the company’s product aims to reduce input costs and improve efficacy of herbicides.

“With the sharp increased in inputs and herbicides this system is even more attractive than before. And with what happens due to shortages in glyphosate and others, we have to think more about how efficiently and effectively we spray,” Bocher says. “It’s a challenging business, and it’s the best item to show this products and its technology in the field.”

The two companies met about five months ago, and leaders say they saw an opportunity to place a leading technology with FBN’s farmer network. Previously, FBN launch an on-farm technology trial program in 2021—but as Matthew Meisner, Vice President of R&D and Data Science at FBN, explains, so far that program has been focused on crop inputs rather than machinery or hardware.

“We see partnerships such as this as being on the leading edge of evaluating new technologies to help farmers be more efficient and have more opportunities for their farm,” Meisner says.

The FBN-assigned machine is in addition to the four of the systems (installed on four brands of sprayers) in operation in the U.S. Midwest. FBN will identify the network of farmers who will use the machine in the 2022 spray season.

Bocher says all of the machines are located in Arizona today and in the coming weeks will be moved to the Midwest.

The two leaders say this first year of working together sets a foundation for a strategic relationship in the future.

Greeneye Technology just closed a $22 million funding round with investors who include AGCO and Syngenta Ventures.
