FMC Agricultural Solutions Partners With Casa Pacifica in Coastal California

FMC Agricultural Solutions is teaming up with Casa Pacifica Centers for Children and Families, an organization that supports vulnerable children and families in southern California and the Central Coast region. FMC will donate 1 percent of sales, up to $75,000, from its Coastal California territory to Casa Pacifica from now through September.

Casa Pacifica’s mission is to provide hope and help for abused, neglected or at-risk children and their families. Their vision is to promote healthy outcomes for children and to strengthen families. Services include emergency shelter care, education, health services, residential treatment care, behavioral therapy, a Families Forward program for Latino families and more. Services are delivered in homes, in the communities and from its campus in Camarillo, California. The program serves more than 4,500 of the regions’ children and their families annually.

“Earlier this year, I spent a half day at the Camarillo facility, and it was eye-opening for me to see the impact of poverty and crime on local communities where agriculture is a top industry,” says Bob Yaklich, regional business manager for FMC. “Casa Pacific helps children going through tough times. Its programs show them a positive way forward and helps them get on track with the skills they need to function, complete school and get jobs. I was moved by the positive impact it is having on young people’s lives.”

Casa Pacifica’s primary service areas are in significant agricultural regions in Ventura and Santa Barbara counties and include families of farmworkers, according to Casa Pacifica’s Controller Michael Couchman. “We appreciate this partnership with FMC as we build out our campus and services as part of our ‘Building New Foundations of Hope’ capital campaign,” says Couchman. The funds raised in that campaign will allow Casa Pacifica to implement new programs and increase the number of children and families served.

FMC is encouraging its retail and farm customers to make their own donations to Casa Pacifica. “By supporting Casa Pacifica, FMC and its retailers are making a difference in children’s lives and that makes a difference in the agricultural communities we serve,” says Chris Giannini, FMC retail market manager for the Coastal California territory.
