FieldAlytics Engage: Farmer-Facing App Clears The Communication Pathway
Now available as a product extension of FieldAlytics, Ever.Ag Agribusiness is offering FieldAlytics Engage, a farmer-facing app to provide communication and transparency in the ag retailer relationship. It marries the spatial data in FieldAlytics with the functionality of direct communication with the retailer.
“This is a powerful app designed to strengthen service providers’ relationships with growers by housing essential information in a single source,” says Ernie Chappell, president of Ever.Ag Agribusiness, a division of Ever.Ag.
FieldAlytics Engage has four key features:
- View upcoming activities on their fields and take action
- Review and approve work orders in real-time
- Comprehensive view of field spatial data
- Full view of up-to-date weather and grain market information
As a communication tool, Chappell says this can put time back into retailers’ day by reducing the need for multiple emails, text messages and phone calls.
For farmers, he highlights the upfront benefit is having an enhanced view of the farm. For example, an application order can be submitted and tracked through completion via the app.
“It’s a single platform for them to monitor their business,” he says. “Then can submit a work order and view application progress from the app.”
The app is now available for all FieldAlytics users and will carry the service provider’s branding.
“This is an extension of FieldAlytics, so for our retail customers, there’s no lift to get this turned on,” Chappell says. “And we are helping them as they reach out to farmer customers and get them familiar with what’s possible on the app.”
Chappell says the introduction of the app shows the future for FieldAlytics, now part of Ever.Ag.
“We will continue to work to give a full view of the operation in conjunction with the retailer,” he says. “It’s our goal to make this app valuable enough that it’s the first thing a farmer looks at in the morning.”
Right now the app offers commodity market information from BarChart and weather provided by DTN. In the coming months, Chappell says additional features will be added.
Also, he says there is value to continue to build transparency in the retailer and farmer relationship as well as reconcile farm plans with field activity and documentation.
“FieldAlytics is a comprehensive agronomy operation platform. This goes to the idea that growers want to and should and could participate in good records on their farm. And it gives them good access to it.
As we collect better information on applications made in the field, it supports the trends of being able to provide more documentation and field records,” he says.
