U.S. growers and ag retailers will see expanded access to biological crop inputs through three newly announced agreements spanning biocontrol, biostimulant and broader biosolutions technologies. The deals — between Biocontrol Technologies and Wilbur-Ellis Agribusiness, ADM and REDSTAR LLC, and Novonesis and Rovensa Next — point to a common theme in the biologicals sector: product innovation increasingly depends on distribution strength, technical support and grower-level execution.
For retailers, the agreements create additional opportunities to incorporate biologicals into agronomic recommendations. For manufacturers and technology developers, they provide access to established sales channels and grower relationships in key U.S. production regions.
The three agreements include:
- Biocontrol Technologies’ U.S. distribution agreement with Wilbur-Ellis Agribusiness for T34 Biocontrol, a biological control product based on Trichoderma asperellum strain T34.
- ADM’s expanded agreement with REDSTAR LLC to commercialize NeoVita 43 under the new REDVITA 43 brand across the Midwest and Rocky Mountain regions.
- Novonesis’ agreement with Rovensa Next, under which Rovensa Next will distribute select Novonesis agricultural biosolutions in the U.S. beginning with the 2027 growing season.
Biocontrol Technologies and Wilbur-Ellis to Commercialize T34 Biocontrol in the U.S.
Biocontrol Technologies, a Barcelona-based specialist in biological crop protection, announced a U.S. distribution agreement with Wilbur-Ellis Agribusiness to support commercialization of T34 Biocontrol.
T34 Biocontrol is based on Trichoderma asperellum strain T34, a beneficial microorganism designed to help manage foliar and soil-borne fungal diseases while supporting root health and plant resilience. The product is intended for use in Integrated Pest Management programs across high-value crops where disease pressure and soil health are key agronomic challenges.
Under the agreement, Wilbur-Ellis will distribute T34 Biocontrol to U.S. growers through its commercial network and technical teams.
“Entering into this agreement with Wilbur-Ellis represents an important strategic step for Biocontrol Technologies in the United States,” said Eduard Fernando, General Manager of Biocontrol Technologies. “The U.S. is a key market for the future of biological crop protection, and partnering with a distributor of Wilbur-Ellis’ scale and technical strength provides a strong platform to support growers with T34 Biocontrol.”
ADM and REDSTAR Expand NeoVita 43 Access Under REDVITA 43 Brand
ADM and REDSTAR LLC announced July 8 that they will expand distribution of ADM’s NeoVita 43 biostimulant, which REDSTAR will manufacture and sell as REDVITA 43.
The formulation remains unchanged. REDVITA 43 is a sugar-based agricultural biostimulant designed to mimic plant root exudates, supporting soil microbial activity, nutrient availability and early-season plant growth. According to the companies, multiyear trials at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign showed that the product, when used with liquid starter fertilizer, increased corn yields by up to seven bushels per acre compared with starter fertilizer alone.
REDSTAR will sell REDVITA 43 through agricultural retailers and direct sales channels across the Midwest and Rocky Mountain regions. The product can be applied with liquid starter fertilizer at planting or as a foliar application and will be available in bulk and tote formats.
“REDSTAR LLC is committed to solutions that enhance soil health and productivity, and we’re proud to bring REDVITA 43 to new customers across the Midwest,” said Tom Stanton, commercial director at REDSTAR LLC.
ADM sales manager Ashley Duehn said the collaboration will help make the technology available to more growers following positive results with NeoVita 43.
Rovensa Next to Distribute Novonesis Biosolutions Beginning in 2027
Novonesis and Rovensa Next also announced a U.S. distribution agreement under which Rovensa Next will commercialize select Novonesis agricultural biosolutions beginning with the 2027 growing season.
The agreement covers products focused on soybeans, corn, pulses and peanuts, including Optimize, NodPro, Torque, Ratchet, BioniQ, TagTeam, QuickRoots, Cell-Tech and JumpStart. For fruit and vegetable crops, Actinovate will be distributed by Rovensa Next alongside its existing biocontrol portfolio. Novonesis will retain select segments, including forage-focused Optimize and Nitragin products for alfalfa and clover.
The partnership expands Rovensa Next’s ability to offer integrated biosolutions programs spanning seed treatment, biofertility, biostimulation, biocontrol, bionutrition and adjuvant technologies from planting through post-harvest.
“This partnership with Rovensa Next aligns with our ambition to put more solutions into the hands of retailers and growers,” said René Garza, Senior Vice President of Planetary Health at Novonesis.
Chuck Broughton, Head of North America at Rovensa Next, said growers are looking for biological products that are practical and performance-driven.
“Growers want solutions that are easy to use, proven to work, and deliver an ROI they can count on,” Broughton said. “The portfolio from this partnership, combined with the existing Rovensa Next portfolio, is built to deliver exactly that.”
