No year in farming is the same, and as farmers navigate changing production methods, while still dealing with the challenges of Mother Nature every year, Ken Ferrie and team are helping farmers focus on farming in the environmental triangle during the in-person 2021 Farm Journal Corn and Soybean College event this week, August 3-4.

The 2021 Farm Journal Corn and Soybean College program, which kicks off this week in Heyworth, Ill., will take a deep dive into everything from cover crops and nutrient management and regulation, to doing everything you can to create an environment for high-yield soybeans. Ferrie says as farmers are challenged to implement even more conservation practices onto their farms, the Crop-Tech Consulting team has in-field demonstrations, as well as content experts who can help farmers manage those changing practices, while not losing a focus on producing high yields.

“It is important that your crop plan accounts for all three environments," says Isaac Ferrie of Crop-Tech Consulting. "You have to account for natural environments, so climate and weather; physical, as in soil type, supply power and soil conditions; and human factors, such as logistics, capital, and planning. A successful plan accounts for all three but can adjust as the environments change."

There's still time to register for the 2021 Fram Journal Corn and Soybean College that will take place this week in Heyworth, Ill. The two-day events runs from August 3 to August 4.  The agenda and registration information can be found here

Some of the key topics included in this year's 2021 Farm Journal Corn and Soybean College include:

  • Cover Crops, Carbon and CO2
  • Navigating through Nutrient Regulation
  • Managing Your Subsurface Environment
  • Maximizing the Environment for High-Yield Soybeans
  • It All Starts in the Furrow

“Come early and be prepared to learn and be challenged about what you thought you knew,” Ken Ferrie says.
"Farmers from all across the U.S. are registered to attend, and you’ll have plenty of time to mingle and make new friends and see some old ones, too."

The Crop-Tech Consulting group says while the Farm Journal Corn College event has been in place for more than a decade, the event in Heyworth, Ill. has all new content each year and includes material on corn and soybeans. Ken Ferrie says the content and demonstration-packed event gives attendees applicable knowledge via a blend of inside classroom sessions and in-field hands-on sessions.

Virtual Event in January

Due to the overwhelming positive response to last year’s virtual event, the crew at Crop-Tech Consulting will also offer a virtual event in January. Attendees of the in-person event in August will also receive a ticket to attend the one- day Crop-Tech Virtual Winter College on January 4th, 2022. Material for the one-day virtual event is a portion of the two-day in-person event that will include updates to show the follow through to yield.

You can register for both events here
