GrainBridge Relaunches Its Flagship Digital Platform

Technology company GrainBridge originally launched its digital platform as Stratum, but as of today, the company has relaunched the product with enhanced features and the name GrainBridge.

With the simple goal of streamlining the grain marketing process to make more informed and profitable decisions, Grainbridge offers these four key features:

  • View local cash bids map from the 400+ participating locations
  • Check on market prices, including futures and options prices for commodities traded on an exchange
  • Avoid truck wait lines by looking up individual location wait times
  • Users can see full contact information for every participating location in addition to hours, alerts and announcements

Mark Johnson, CEO of Grainbridge says the company is working to help farmers make smarter decisions.

“A lot of technology companies think about complex features, and sometimes the biggest gains and biggest strides can be made on focusing on basic improvements,” he says.

Johnson recently joined Chip Flory on AgriTalk:

The company is a joint venture of Archer Daniels Midland Company and Cargill Incorporated, so farmer customers of those two companies and any other participating company can view contracts, scale tickets and settlements. Existing users of the ADM FarmView and CargillAg applications will be transitioned to GrainBridge.

“Digitization is working to eliminate manual entry while presenting all the data in one place,” Johnson says. “It’s the ultimate goal, and we’re creeping in on it.”

He also shares data-security is a focus for GrainBridge and its two parent companies.

“We are in a unique position where security is important to everyone on the platform, so we keep everything clearly separate and invest a ton of resources and time on security,” Johnson says.

Looking ahead, Johnson says a focus for the company is to increase the features to be more of a “dashboard” for farmers. He joined the company in April, and brings a deep experience in the product-development focus of technology. Johnson says he is energized by a rhythm of product releases, and to look for much more from GrainBridge.

“I see farmers as being hungry for digital tools that directly answer the problems they have. I see GrainBridge as a company that will help them with even more complex things in the future such as digital tools to support marketing decisions.”
