Condon Resigns From Bayer Crop Science, Santos Steps In As New Leader Effective January 2022
Bayer announced on November 9 that Liam Condon has resigned from his leadership role at Bayer Crop Science.
Stepping into the position of president of the crop science division will be Rodrigo Santos, who has been the chief operating officer of the crop science division and has had global commercial operations responsibilities.
“We are extremely pleased that Rodrigo Santos will assume leadership of our Crop Science business, bringing more than 25 years of experience in agriculture to the role. Rodrigo Santos is a very customer centric leader, with a strong capacity for execution and innovation,” said Prof. Dr. Norbert Winkeljohann, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Bayer AG.
Bayer’s announcement said Condon planned to “pursue career opportunities outside of Bayer,” and his final day with the company will be December 31, 2021. Condon joined Bayer after its acquisition of Schering, his employer at the time, in November 2006. Condon has been part of the Bayer Crop Science team since December 1, 2012.
“The Crop Science Division is extremely well positioned to set industry standards in terms of innovation and sustainability. The focus will now be to build on this foundation in the coming years in order to fully realize the significant potential for value creation,” Winkeljohann said in the company’s statement. “We would like to warmly thank Liam Condon for his achievements during over 30 years at Bayer. Over the past nine years, he has successfully led and strategically transformed the Crop Science Division. We wish him all the very best for the future.”
