BASF’s xarvio Partners With Nutrien Ag Solutions, WinField United
In the past six months, BASF has made two announcements regarding its xarvio agtech tools with partnerships expanding its footprint in ag retail.
In mid-June, BASF and Nutrien Ag Solutions announced the xarvio scouting app would be integrated into the Nutrien Ag Solutions Customer Portal. At the time, the companies stated an intention to continue to work together including offering the xarvio Field Manager tool in the Customer Portal.
In early November, BASF and WinField United announced a single sign-on connection from WinField United’s ATLAS platform to the BASF xarvio digital platforms, namely the Scouting app. The companies said it will lead to an ability to synch data between the two company platforms, which would include aggregating pest data for regional risk assessments and “heat maps.”
The xarvio Scouting app provides a tool where farmers and retailers can detect in-field stresses by photo identification, which includes weeds and diseases. BASF says, “the app is powered by advanced A.I. algorithms that continually improve precision and functionality through machine learning and data sharing.”
“In a market place that is extremely complex, collaboration will be critical to providing innovative solutions to meet the needs of growers,” said Paul Rea, Senior Vice President, BASF Agricultural Solutions North America in a news release. “xarvio Digital Farming Solutions gives growers more control of their fields and the confidence to make the right choices, at the right time for better yields.”
